Astoria Film Festival Interns & Film Fellows
Astoria Film Festival Intern programs are several-week programs held through partnerships with specific HS's and colleges and/or community centers. If you are a school or community center* that is interested in having its students participate in our internship programs, please contact us at astoriafilmfestival at gmail.com. Interns work on a variety of projects, from remote work creating social media content and editing video and films to in-person work as Production Assistants on our AFFProduction film shoots and our .Film Workshop film shoots.
2023-24 Internships:
Summer Intern Cohort (SYEP, LAGCC Research Foundation): July/August
Fall Intern Cohort: October 1-Dec 10
Spring Intern Cohort: March-June
The Astoria Film Festival Film Fellows Program provides HS and College Students interested in film/tv/digital media production real- world work experience, training, and industry mentors. Our goal is to promote access and develop pathways for emerging talent, diverse voices, and underrepresented youth to explore careers in the film/tv/digital media fields. We are open to disabled students and look forward to including them. Email us for more information.
Spring 2023: Astoria Film Festival Media Production Lab, funded by the City Council's Cultural Development Fund 2023, will give our interns a chance to learn filmmaking and media production skills from a variety of industry experts. Learn more about this here.
Film Fellows have worked with us first as Interns and were then invited to continue working with us, in a more leadership capacity, on various AFFProductions projects and in our Film Workshops.
