AFFStudio

Since 2020, AFFStudio has been training Astoria Film Festival staff and interns (while also paying them) to create quality video content for local businesses, schools, and nonprofit organizations, with a focus on Queens/NYC based organizations.

Begun during lockdown, to give film students around NYC the necessary experience in filming, editing, and social media content creation needed for possible future careers, AFFStudio has since grown into a staple part of our film education programming.

AFFStudio is a Workforce Development program where we pay young filmmakers a living wage, to create original media for actual clients such as local businesses and nonprofits. During their time with AFF, youth gain valuable experience by working on a variety of projects with our Instructors and Executive Director.  AFFStudio also gives our Interns the opportunity to participate in these real-life work experiences, and receive mentoring and training, in production, editing, and in social media content creation careers.

AFFStudio is made up of our Director plus Instructors along with local HS and College Film Students who are guided in their work as PAs on the shoots or as video editors.

If you are a school or city program that would like us to work with your student-interns, please contact us as astoriafilmfestival @ gmail.com

AFFStudio Videos can be found on our YouTube Channel, as well as on IG, FB, & LinkedIN
