AFFStudio

AFFStudio is a Workforce Development program where we train and pay young filmmakers, to create original media for actual clients such as local businesses and nonprofits. During their time with AFF, youth gain valuable experience by working on a variety of projects with our Instructors and Executive Director.

AFFStudio also gives our Interns the opportunity to participate in these real-life work experiences, and receive mentoring and training, in production, editing, and in social media content creation careers.

Since 2020, AFFStudio has been training Astoria Film Festival staff and interns (while also paying them) to create affordable, quality social media video content for businesses, schools, and nonprofit organizations. Some of the organizations we have worked with include: QEDC, Entrepreneur Space, Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens, QBP Office, Communidad Latinx, Malikah, Ditmars Merchants Association.

Our interns currently come from LAGCC, Art & Design HS, ACTVF HS, and Brooklyn STEAM Center. If you are a school or city program that would like us to work with your student-interns, please email us

In 2026, AFFStudio is working on creating social media content for Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens, Ditmars Restaurant Week, and KEPYR, and serving as the production staff for a podcast withKaufman Astoria Studios. We are not taking on any new projects at this time.

AFFStudio Videos can be found on our YouTube Channel, as well as on IG, FB, & LinkedIN
