AFFStudio

Since 2018, AFFStudio has been training Astoria Film Festival Students and Interns to create quality video content for local businesses, schools, and nonprofit organizations, with a focus on Queens/NYC based organizations.

AFFStudio provides film and video production and social media content creation/management services at affordable prices to local businesses, while also providing real-life, paid work experiences, mentoring, and training, to local youth interested in production and social media careers.

​

AFFStudio pays young filmmakers a living wage, to create original media for actual clients. During their time with AFF, youth gain valuable experience by working on a variety of projects with our Executive Director. 

 

AFFStudio Fellows participate in these projects as designers, writers, video editors, directors, camera operators, ADs, gaffers, and sound mixers.

AFFStudio Interns are often HS and College Film Students who are guided in their work as PAs on the shoots or as video editors.

 

Currently, AFFStudio Interns come from Bryant HS WLG, SYEP, AACTVF HS, Art&Design Aviation HS, and Motion Picture Tech HS.  If you would like us to work wit your student-interns, please contact us as astoriafilmfestival @ gmail.com

Our ED is an entertainment/digital media/video production veteran with over 25 years of experience.  She also brings in specialists as needed to guide our students through the projects. 

​

AFFStudio's main project for 2023-2025 is working with the QEDC to create promotional videos for local businesses.  This initiative is called ASTORIA STOREFRONTS.  We also work with other local nonprofits to cover events and create video promotions and social clips.
