AFFProductions works to bring real-life film, video, and multimedia production work experiences to High School and College students interested in film and media careers throughout NYC by connecting them with local organizations that can benefit from their production services at affordable rates.

We are led by an entertainment/digital media/production veteran with over 25 years of experience creating marketing/branding/entertainment content, and several specialists who all work to mentor and guide our students through the projects.

During their time with AFF, our Film Fellows gain valuable experience by working on a variety of projects with our ED. Some of their work has involved interviewing community leaders for various local documentaries and promotional videos, creating, filming, and editing our half hour show Astoria Film Festival Presents for QPTV, participating as camera operators, gaffers, ADs, and sound recordists in film workshop shoots, creating/filming/editing a cooking show with the QEDC’s Entrepreneur Space, creating/filming/editing an historical video about Kaufman Astoria Studios' 100 Anniversary, production assistance for the online and in-person Film Festivals, creating graphics and editing video content for our various social media accounts, and editing short films to be screened in our Youth Festival at Kaufman Astoria Studios in October.

The internship placements are possible thanks to CUNY SYEP and WLG programs, as well as via partnerships with the High School of Art & Design CTE Film program, Fordham High School for the Arts, International High School of Health Sciences in Queens, and the Queensborough Community College & LaGuardia Community College CUNY LEADS program.
